The Identity
of the Indonesian National Army
The Identity
of the Indonesian National Army cannot be separated from the Indonesian
nation's and Defense Forces' struggling values. Those struggling
values have generated the identity of the Indonesian National Army.
The firmly
adhered identities , are among other things:
1. Those
originating from the history of the nation's struggle:
a.
The struggle to fight and to defend the independence is based upon
the creed of truth of struggling goal blessed by God Almighty, so
that the never-to surrender spirits and determination" to be
free or to be dead" can be aroused.
b. Defending and effectuating the independence are based upon the
souls and spirits of the August 17, 1945 Proclamation, State Ideology
Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.
2. Those originating from the history of struggles of Indonesian
Defense Forces:
a
The TNI which springs as a patriot provides unyielding motivations
for dedication to the nation and country, despite the existing complex
dynamics of changes.
b. The fact that the TNI is from the people and united with the
people is upheld for the sake of people's welfare actualization.
c. As one of the national components, together with the other ones,
the TNI resolves to sustain the integrity of the Unitary State of
the Republic of Indonesia.
d. The TNI as
a core of the Defense Forces is professionally responsible for defending
and guarding the state sovereignty and the territorial integrity
of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia against any emerging
threats.
3. Those
originating from the soldier's identity;
a
As a people's soldier having the personality as a God's being and
social human being, a soldier is the guardian of the message of
the people's suffering who fights with people and for people's interests.
b. As a fighting soldier with unending fighting spirits, a soldier
who sacrifices with all of his heart and soul for the actualization
of the national goal is the protector of state ideals and ideology.
c. As a national soldier who is aware of his profession as a member
of the TNI is the guardian and upholder of the sovereignty of the
Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila and
1945 Constitution.
