INDONESIA VICTORIOUS IN AARM INDIVIDUAL EVENTS


Cilodong, W Java, Sept 7 (ANTARA) - Indonesia has won three of the five individual matches contested in the 14th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet held in the Firing Range of the Infantry Division of the Indonesian Army Strategic Reserve Command (Kostrad) in Cilodong West Java from September 1 to 8, 2004.

Indonesia grabed the first places in the Rifle, Carbine and Machine Gun matches. Singapore won the first place in the men's pistol match and the Philippine was victorious in the women's pistol event.

Indonesian shooters also won the second places in all of the five individual events. The Philippines won the third places for the individual rifle and carbine events. Singapore took the third place in the individual men's pistol, Indonesia won the women's pistol while the third place for the machine gun event went to Malaysia.

In group's events, except the men's pistol match, Indonesia succeeded in gaining the first rank. In the men's pistol, however, Indonesia only occupied the second place. Other events, the Rifle and Carbine events were won by Thailand, the women's pistol by the Philippines and machine gun by Malaysia.

The third places in the group's events, the Philippines was ranked first, winning the men's the rifle, carbine pistol events. the women's pistol was won by Thailand and machine gun by Singapore.
